STRANDS OF STRENGTH
Established in 2011 by a cancer survivor, Strands of Strength (SOS) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide wigs free of charge to needy women suffering hair loss due to cancer treatment. The wigs offered by Strands of Strength disguise hair loss, decrease feelings of vulnerability and provide greater self-esteem, hopefully resulting in the personal strength needed to successfully battle the disease.

As a stylist/salon you can help raise the odds by making a donation.
According to University of Iowa medical studies, over 16,000 Iowans are newly diagnosed with cancer each year. While many of them have the support and financial resources to successfully fight the disease, many do not. It is these patients Strands of Strength seeks to help.
By joining together to raise the funds needed to purchase wigs, and by working closely with area hospitals and cancer treatment centers to screen recipients, Strands of Strength is, quite literally, saving people's lives.
